Few More Act 1 Notes/Call Times for Show

ACT 1:  Great job, gang!  I could tell that the last time you ran the show for me at rehearsal last night, you were on top of it!!  Thank you for your dedication to making this show great.  You are shining up there!!  I am going to encourage you to go all out for this.  For some of you, this is your last variety show.  Regardless of who you are or what act you are in, go out there and do your best!  Give it your heart and soul!  Be loud, be confident, and SMILE!!  You are showcasing your talent, and I am proud of you!  GO GET 'EM!

CALL TIME FOR THURSDAY SHOW:  I need you in the auditorium on stage at 3:20.  I will give you a quick pep talk then let you go put on your costumes.  Please go right to the green room and get ready, as we will start RIGHT ON TIME AT 4:00.  The house will open at 3:30/3:35, no later.  I am pushing play on the opening number right at 4:00, so make sure are in the wings ready to go for that opening number.  Your tech crew kids will tell you when there is 5 minutes until we begin.  There is a tv downstairs in the green room, so you can watch the acts before you.  Please only go up to the wings on stage for the act before your act.  We have very limited space in our wings.

CALL TIME FOR ACT 1 Friday and Saturday:  6:00
CALL TIME FOR ACT 2 Friday and Saturday:  6:30/6:45 (please be there before the show begins)

Here are a few tweaks that I noticed last night after the second run-through:

• Margo/Elena – make sure that you split center on dance break
• Anna – go back to the original way of doing Michael Jackson – behind first curtain / you can go all the way across stage to the piano, then exit behind second curtain (since you can't get around piano).  It looked better when you went straight across as you are so good at this 'moon walk'!
• Ella – work on cassette tape / Before the show starts, backstage, rewind and hit play / as soon as the music starts, hit stop to get it ready – then when you push play in the show on stage, it will start right with where you left off at the beginning of the song - instead of the 4 seconds of dead space at the beginning of the song
• Meera – have your music on the piano set up before you sit down / you have plenty of time to open the book before your freeze when Quinn starts playing.  If you do that, all you have to do is slide your book down onto the piano
• Adelics – enter a little before White Horse ends (you can enter while they are singing and put your back to the audience - make sure you stand in a line across), as soon as the audience starts clapping, move to the mics.  Addison & Ella / you’ll put the mics on the stands – the stands will be to the front of the stage – Adelics are bringing it forward.  That way, the Adelics can get right into their spot.
• Caroline – enter from stage right (the side that the bench is on) / sit & then sing – you can grab a mic that is closer to you.  Don't forget to put the Michael Jackson picture on the floor and when you bring the picture in, don't forget to turn his picture to us (we want to see what you are singing to)
